Abstract: This article aims to study the radiation leakage from shielded cables by pigtail effect. Theoretical analyses and experimental results are carried out to verify that pigtails from shielded cables do cause radiation leakage. Calculations of the radiation leakage are presented on the basis of transmission line theory and antenna theory. These calculations are simulated using Matlab program and the results are presented. Experiments are carried out and the results are in good agreement with the theoretical results.
