Abstract: Polar transmitters are often employed in communication systems to obtain high linearity and high efficiency. In this paper, we study and analyze the performance of polar transmitters using delta and delta-sigma modulations. It is found that delta modulation is subject to the variation of the signals, and shows relatively poor linearity compared to deltasigma modulation in the polar transmitters. ©2007 IEEE.
