Abstract: A novel simple long distance FBG sensor system is proposed and demonstrated. It can easily achieve 45dB SNR after transmitting along a 50km single mode fiber (SMF) by using only one 1W Raman pump laser source at 1395nm and a segment of 5m EDF. ©2009 Optical Society of America.
