dc.description.abstractImplementation of advanced DSP algorithms like back-propagation (BP) for coherent communication systems requires detail knowledge of the transmission link configurations. We demonstrate the use of pilot symbols to monitor fiber nonlinear parameters, number of spans as well as OSNR of a transmission link.
