The application of element free Galerkin (EFG) method to determine the eigenvalues of the classical and the truncated rectangular waveguides was discussed. EFG applies the moving least square (MLS) aproximation to construct the shape function and Galerkin weak form to develop the discretized system equation. It depends on the distribution of a set of nodes inside the analysis domain. It is also implemented for the analysis of an truncated rectangular waveguide with rounded sides and achieves beter values than FEM with the same number of nodes.
