In this paper, two computationally efficient prefilter structures are proposed for the design of narrow-band bandpass FIR filters. The prefilters are developed from a multiplication free prototype filter. Significant savings in the number of arithmetic operations can be achieved by applying the prefilter to a modified Interpolated Finite Impulse Response (IFIR) structure. Design examples show that the proposed prefilter structures are more efficient than the IFIR approach.
