Abstract: Current physiotherapy equipment available in the market are often bulky, costly and not reconfigurable for a wide range of routines. This paper focuses on the development of an intelligent physiotherapy system using a compact reconfigurable inputoutput (cRIO) system and LabVIEW from National Instruments (NI). As this portable system makes use of computer control and programming, it is able to provide a higher level of safety, intelligence, convenience, customization, and portability and enhanced human-equipment interaction as compared to many existing physiotherapy devices, such as gym machines and weights, and rehabilitation equipment.
