The constraints for digitally implemented maximally flat optimum broadband beamformers were presented. The first and second order derivative constraints of the beamformers were derived since higher order derivative constraints can be derived similarly. Derivative constraints force a beamformer's power response in the look direction to be maximally flat, spatially, to widen its acceptance angle.
