dc.description.abstractThe damping capacity of metal matrix composites was discussed. The damping capacity of a metallic matrix increases due to the addition of a stiffer reinforcement phase. The increase in damping with an increase in the weight/volume percentage of reinforcement was attributed to a increase in the energy dissipation.
