Abstract: Of the key indicators useful in assessing a soil improvement method, settlement and preconsolidation pressure are more reliable than pore pressure, especially in high plastic soft clays. A bilinear relationship between void ratio and coefficient of permeability helps to pinpoint the preconsolidation pressure.-from Authors
