dc.description.abstractAn investigation of the wave runup phenomenon which was performed on smooth impermeable composite slopes in order to study the interaction between the wave characteristics and structural parameters is described in this article. The results are correlated with the experimental and semi-theoretical works of other investigations. Saville's method to estimate the runup on composite slopes is verified and the limitations are identified. An empirical runup equation relating relative runup and wave steepness is proposed for each particular depth, slope and begin width.
