The critical shear loads for rectangular Mindlin plates have been computed for a large practical range of plate dimensions and six boundary conditions involving simply supported and clamped edges. For relatively long plates (aspect ratio, a/b, = 3), the boundary conditions at the shorter edges negligibly affect the critical shear load, while the edge conditions of the longer edges can influence the shear load significantly.
