Abstract: Due to the increasing expansion of road systems, housing estates, commercial and industrial buildings, harbor facilities and other forms of concrete construction throughout Singapore, problems often arise concerning the supply of suitable rock aggregates for the production of good quality concrete. In view of this, the sensible and judicious selection of rock aggregates for the production of concrete is an economic necessity in Singapore. This paper presents the results of investigations carried out on various types of Singapore rocks in order to assess their suitability for making aggregates to produce good-quality durable concrete for both onshore and offshore usage.
