Abstract: Very accurate closed-form formulas for coplanar strip synthesis, which are approximated in terms of ordinary functions, are developed. The accuracy is found to be better than 1% for most of the practical range, compared with the results from quasi-static analysis and full-wave analysis. The formulas developed here for coplanar strips, together with those for coplanar waveguides presented previously, represent a complete set of synthesis formulas for the design of coplanar lines in hybrid and monolithic microwave integrated circuits.
