Abstract: The cutoff characteristics of an asymmetrically loaded cylindrical waveguide are analyzed using the null-fleld method. The Uriels in the metallic waveguide and dielectric loading are expressed in their corresponding guided-wave modes. The addition theorem of the Bessel function is used to relate the Uriels across the air-dielectric boundary. ©1998 IEEE.
