ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1049/el:20000162||Abstract:||An expression is derived for estimating the bit error rate (BER) performance of a Reed-Solomon (RS) coded baseband data system with ideal interleaving in an impulse noise channel. The derivation is based on the probability density functions (pdf) of the amplitude, duration and inter-arrival time of impulse noise obtained in a recent study carried out in the German telephone network.
