Abstract: Evaluating the multichannel linear descriptor frequency of field variety of electroencephalogram (EEG), the relationship between frequency of field variety of EEG and physiological mental fatigue is investigated by analyzing EEG of different physiological mental fatigue in the experiments of 24 hours sleep deprivation and three mental fatigue states, and the variations of frequency of field variety of EEG under different physiological mental fatigue levels are sought out. The experimental results show that the average frequency of field variety of EEG decreases with the increasing physiological mental fatigue level. The average frequency of field variety of EEG is strongly correlated with physiological mental fatigue. The average frequency of field variety is expected to serve as the index for detecting physiological mental fatigue level.
