dc.description.abstract | The optimization of multipass turning operations has been an important research topic as optimum cutting conditions are to be determined for both process planning and NC part programming with an objective to minimize either the total production time or the total production cost per component. This paper presents the numerical optimization of minimizing total production time per component for multipass turning operations subject to practical constraints such as force, power, machining speed and feed using sequential quadratic programming technique. Some numerical results of this optimization problem are presented. © 1991. | |
