Abstract: The global methods of generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) and generalized integral quadrature (GIQ) are applied to simulate two-dimensional, unsteady, laminar boundary layer flows past an impulsively started circular cylinder. The present results compare well with other researchers' results, which confirm that there is a finite time singularity in the solution of unsteady boundary layer equations.
