Various features of the monograph under review book, which presents an integrated and systematic treatment on the analysis, design, and applications of switched and impulsive dynamical systems, are discussed. The book presents the mathematical models of switched and impulsive systems and provide major theoretical developments for the stability analysis and design of switched and impulsive systems. The book elaborates on the stability of linear switched and impulsive systems where both the constituent sub-systems and the switching impulses are linear time-invariant. One of the main topic of the book is the stabilization and synchronization of a class of chaotic systems via impulsive control. A hybrid control scheme is proposed in the book to address the problem of scalable video coding. The book is also suitable to serve as a reference for researchers and postgraduates in the system, control, and communication communities and can be used as guidance for industry-oriented engineers.
