Abstract: An efficient approach for fast evaluation of the poles' locations in two-layered microstrip geometry has been presented. For the first time, good initial values and functional expressions with quadratic convergence for two-layered pole extraction have been derived. Numerical comparison with available methods of extraction shows that our proposed method is verv accurate and extremely fast in convereence. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
