Title: | A new approach to design sharp diamond-shaped filters | Authors: | Low, S.-H. Lim, Y.-C. |
Keywords: | 2-D digital filters Filters |
Issue Date: | 29-May-1998 | Citation: | Low, S.-H.,Lim, Y.-C. (1998-05-29). A new approach to design sharp diamond-shaped filters. Signal Processing 67 (1) : 35-48. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Sharp FIR filters have very high implementation complexities. This is even more so for sharp 2-D FIR filters. In this paper, we introduce a new efficient approach for the synthesis of sharp diamond-shaped 2-D FIR filters using the frequency response masking technique. The design procedure as well as the parameters for the minimum complexity design are presented. A design example is also included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
