dc.description.abstractThis study deals with the dynamics of a flexible beam with piezoelectric actuators for active vibration control. A mathematical model, comprising two mathematical formulae of generalized forces for bending modes and longitudinal modes, is established. Instead of treating actuators as an external excitation source for the structure in previous studies, in this study, the mechanical dynamics of the actuators is incorporated into the model. Therefore, the model is more accurate and offers a better theoretical basis for the implementation of active vibration control.
