Abstract: We investigate the spin dynamics in triangular shaped permalloy rings using broadband ferromagnetic resonance spectroscopy. Compared with circular rings, we observed multiple resonance frequency peaks, which are strongly dependent on the orientation of the applied magnetic field relative to the horizontal edge of rings, displaying six-fold anisotropy. We validated our experimental results using modified Kittel equation [C. Kittel, Phys. Rev. 73, 155 (1948)] and dynamic micromagnetic simulations which show good agreement. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.
