Abstract: This paper presents a time dependent theoretical model for predicting the oscillation threshold of a pulsed doubly resonating (DRO) optical parametric oscillator (OPO) operating near degeneracy. Besides proposing a numerical approach, simplified expressions for the oscillation threshold are also derived for both single pass and double pass pumped versions.
