dc.description.abstractThe probability density functions of the amplitude, duration, and inter-arrival time of impulse noise recently derived in a study carried out in the German Telephone Network are used to obtain a simple closed form expression for estimating the bit error rate performance of data transmission in digital subscriber loops.
