Ang Aik Leng of the National University of Singapore, School of Building and Estate Management addresses the use of mathematical modelling, based on the theory of radioactive exponential decay, to analyse the deterioration rates of roofs and shows that the model can be used to predict the future roof performance and its remaining service life.
