Application of a new experimental technique for the investigation of natural ventilation and thermal comfort in a building situated in Singapore is described. The investigation comprised full scale experiments in a naturally ventilated dining room of a students' hall of residence and scale model tests of the building in a boundary layer wind tunnel. There was good agreement of results obtained from full scale tests and model tests. Thermal comfort analyses were based on a "tropicalized" PMV index as applied to mean conditions observed in the full scale experiments. © 1992.
