A survey of 102 real estate professionals in Singapore was conducted to identify key factors in their assessment of a graduate real estate program. From the perspective of respondents, the three most important criteria are quality teaching, branding and reputation, and course curriculum. Teaching quality involves engaging instructors with relevant field experience and the ability to stimulate interest and class participation. The emphasis on an institution's branding and reputation highlights the difficulty a new school without branding or reputation faces. With respect to program content, the respondents want curriculums that are practice-orientated and focused on new innovations and developments in the field. This suggests that prospective students are more interested in how new knowledge can be applied in their day-to-day work situations, rather than just learning about theories and principles.
