Abstract: In this paper, we examine the issue of managing trust in peer-to-peer systems. In particular, we focus on reputation-based schemes. We look at some design considerations in implementing distributed reputation-based systems, namely storage, integrity, metrics and changing of identity. We provide a survey of related work on the storage and integrity issues, and present our solution to address these issues. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2003.
