An adaptive and task specific ranking mechanism was proposed for the ordering of documents during Web searching. The system combines the content, link and usage information to rank the relevant documents. The search engine satisfied all kinds of information requests with the same retrieval functions and gave the rankings. The system ranks the documents according to user's purpose and their queries in search engine.
