dc.description.abstractPolypeptides derived from Ophiophagus hannah (king cobra) are disclosed together with their use in the treatment of disease, disorder or pathological condition in a patient in need of treatment. The polypeptides disclosed are functionally characterised by their ability to reduce the mammalian heart rate and/or their .beta.-antagonist activity.
