Issue Date: | 12-Apr-2024 | Citation: | KHIN HNIN SU (2024-04-12). USING DESIGN TO SUPPORT MEANINGFUL REPEATED EXPERIENCES FOR DOMESTIC TRAVELLERS IN SINGAPORE. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | This user experience study utilizes the concept of memorable tourism experiences (MTEs) to investigate how photographs can be used to create memorable initial experiences for a domestic traveller in Singapore that would then support meaningful revisitation to the site in the future. Specifically, the study looks at how the co-creation exercise of using a photobooth and logging memories on an interactive map contributes to the domestic traveller’s experience at a site. A series of Figma prototypes for a photobooth, a photo-taking experience using NFC tags, and a web application that is compatible with mobile were created and tested with Singaporean adults aged 21 and above to evaluate the design effectiveness in improving the overall domestic cultural tourist experience and supporting meaningful revisitation. The findings from this study reaffirms previous literature that refreshment of experiences are able to improve revisitation intentions in travellers, while the use of photographs and memory logs help to increase the meaningfulness of the cultural attractions. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/249652 |
