Abstract: The primary aim of this thesis is to contribute to the field of construction productivity as part of Singapore’s Construction Industry Transformation Map (CITM) initiative by investigating the productivity of the proposed Reinforced Concrete column and Steel beam (RCS) system for rapid assembly, in comparison to conventional beam-column connection systems. The thesis covers the following: (i) describe and document the Manufacturing Technique and Assembly Sequence (MTAS) for the proposed RCS system mock-up; (ii) evaluate the impact of using Productivity Measurement Technique (PMT) to measure the productivity level of the various conventional systems and proposed RCS system; (iii) assess the impact of slab systems on the proposed RCS system to better understand the construction cost implications; and (iv) propose an improved MTAS for the proposed RCS system to further enhance its productivity for commercialisation.
