Abstract: This thesis examines the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare by conducting three targeted case studies that investigate the utility of AI across different data modalities—image-based and tabular. These studies provide an analysis of both structured and unstructured data, highlighting the current capabilities and limitations of AI technologies in medical settings. This research provides insights into how AI can be applied to improve diagnostics and treatment planning in healthcare. It also identifies areas for further research and development, aiming to advance AI implementations that are both effective and sensitive to the nuances of medical practice.
