Abstract: As Singapore progresses towards greater sustainability and urban development, the impact of sustainability features on the popularity of private properties has become a pertinent inquiry. This dissertation seeks to explore the multifaceted dynamics between sustainability features and the desirability of private properties within Singapore’s real estate market. Both potential buyers and current residents were surveyed, and the results concluded that both potential and current residents of condominiums are overall satisfied with the presence of sustainability features but would not purchase a condominium unit solely due to the features. It was also concluded that potential residents of condominiums with sustainability features were willing to pay for sustainability features to a smaller extent and amount on top of the purchase price. Ultimately, the dissertation aspires to offer valuable insights and recommendations for stakeholders in the real estate industry, urban planners, policymakers, and property developers to enhance the sustainability and appeal of private properties in Singapore's evolving urban landscape.
