Abstract: The rising prevalence of infectious diseases, such as antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and recently, COVID-19, has been an alarming and escalating threat to public health globally. Aside from the above-mentioned threats, food security issue is another critical challenge that has substantially affected global healthcare (e.g. starvation, lack of nutrition). Extensive efforts including AI-related technologies have open gateways to overcome these challenges. In this collection, AI-derived platforms termed IDentif.AI and WisDM Green were harnessed to rapidly pinpoint and design clinically actionable combination therapies against infectious diseases and compound combinations for sustainable agriculture, respectively. The results suggested that across various biological systems spanning from viruses to plants, properly pairing drugs/compounds in combinations and subsequently adjusting their optimal ratios are crucial to improved outcomes. More importantly, these AI-derived platforms may serve as a strategic tool for future pandemic readiness and for food yield enhancement.
