Title: | SUSTAINABILITY IN MALL FACILITIES MANAGEMENT: A STUDY ON INTEGRATING GREEN STRATEGIES ON OPERATION AND OCCUPANT SATISFACTION | Authors: | AVRIL GOH SHI YUN | Issue Date: | 2023 | Citation: | AVRIL GOH SHI YUN (2023). SUSTAINABILITY IN MALL FACILITIES MANAGEMENT: A STUDY ON INTEGRATING GREEN STRATEGIES ON OPERATION AND OCCUPANT SATISFACTION. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | This research investigated the integration of green strategies in mall facilities management and their impact on operational efficiency, sustainability performance, and occupant satisfaction. Adopting a mixed methods approach, the study reviewed literature on sustainability best practices in mall operations and conducted expert interviews and surveys with over 100 Singapore mall visitors and tenants. The results indicated broad appreciation for green initiatives along with gaps in participation and knowledge. While impacts on satisfaction were inconclusive, sustainability was perceived to enhance brand image and the overall shopping experience. The research suggests malls should leverage green strategies through collaborative planning, occupant education, and incentivizing stakeholder involvement. By pioneering analysis in Singapore's context, this timely study aims to catalyze the ongoing transformation of malls into proactive hubs exemplifying environmental and social responsibility. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/247001 |
