Abstract: Aqueous Zn battery is an ideal candidate for large-scale energy storage devices due to its advantages of high safety, inexpensive, and time efficiency. However, uncontrolled growth of Zn dendrite severely degrades the reversibility and stability of Zn metal anodes, limiting the practical application of aqueous Zn batteries. The interfaces related to Zn metal anodes are vital as Zn plating is diffusion-controlled progress, which is strongly dependent on the ion/electric field distribution at the anode-electrolyte interface. In this text, the effects of different interfaces of Zn plating behavior were investigated. Furthermore, different antidendrite methods were proposed to achieve dendrite-free Zn metal anodes, contributing to highly stable and reversible aqueous Zn batteries.
