The interview starts from theoretical clarification between "megastructure" and "mega-form" to introduce his long-term concentration on "Space of Public Appearance", which acts as a clue for unfolding the discussion of multiple perspectives such as problems of program in contemporary cities, critical regionalism under globalization, reflection on Chinese contemporary architecture, future development of Chinese architecture, political potentials of tectonics, architecture culture and public spaces in post-COVID time etc. Finally, the new role of architects and theorists was reconsidered through the critical reflections on contemporary architecture in the past 20 years to discuss how to deal with current predicament in architecture.
