Abstract

The new housing programme seeks to create a living environment that the residents would be able to shape and control through participation and contribution and engaging the shared areas such that the spaces outside their units would have meaning to the residents as well. The way in which people interact culturally will eventually shape the character of the place they dwell in and create a place which the residents would feel a sense of belonging to. The target group will be people looking for an alternative way of living, desiring in making a distinction of their home and willing to spend the time and effort in designing and decorating their home, to them, their home became the expression of themselves and their sanctuary and it is a place they want to showcase to others. An empty condominium site at the foot of Mt. Faber is chosen with an site area of 11,000 sqm. It is located at close proximity to public housing estates and Mt Faber hill at the junction of the Mt Faber Road and Lower Delta Road.
