Abstract: While there have been many studies regarding how to maximize data visualization, how this data visualization performs when it is put into reports still needs to be explored. Many a time, data visualization can help to influence important decisions. To help Singapore achieve low workplace casualties and fatalities, the study aimed to look at how data visualization can best be improvised to help users interpret it best, making appropriate and accurate decisions. The study first looked at existing studies for a holistic understanding of the context regarding data visualization. An evaluation framework was designed to help the study get the best results. The framework consisted of efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction. Using the framework, the study then looked at data visualization worldwide to evaluate the common types of data visualization, its readability and suitability regarding the information presented. It is observed that when it comes to data visualization, efficiency is primarily related to effectiveness. However, satisfaction may not always be the case. Recommendations were then made for current data visualization used to improve the standards shown in workplace safety and health data visualization. The author of this study hopes to aid data visualization presented in workplace safety and health reports in Singapore and possibly the rest of the world to better convey its intended message and information to its readers.
