Abstract: For this dissertation, full-scale experiments were carried out to explore the temperature distribution in naturally ventilated indoor spaces and how varying controlled conditions of the experimental set-up affects the temperature distribution. Literature review concludes that full-scale tests result in a continuous thermal profile, while reduced-scale tests result in two-layer stratifications. Full-scale experiments at the SDE4 Smart Green Home and the SDE2 Office locations were conducted to observe the temperature distribution of these naturally ventilated spaces. The temperature distribution of the test set-up room and the temperature of the surfaces of the room were measured. Three different set-up conditions were prepared, and four sets of data were collected. The experimental results were observed for its compliance to the theoretical predictions from the literature review hypotheses. According to the experimental results, the effect of natural ventilation results in a continuous thermal profile for E1, E2, E3 and E4, and a continuous thermal profile is observed for full-scale tests.
