Issue Date: | 2023 | Citation: | MARCUS QUEK JUN YEE (2023). SUSTAINABLE ENERGY STUDY ON PARK MANAGEMENT. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | This dissertation aims to study the current park management in Singapore in terms of energy performance. Park Management in Singapore has been improving over the years with the adoption of technology and policies to increase the efficiency of water, wildlife management and ecological healthcare however there is a lack of sustainable energy practice showcase in Singapore (GTA, 2019). Thus, this has led the author to research further in depth about the current green technology, sustainable building or energy-saving practices used in overseas case studies. Various existing case studies such as local and overseas will be used to compare and analyse to see what are the possible sustainable features or practices that can be incorporated into the local context. The case studies are then compared to see which sustainable features are most suitable for parks. Green technology is identified as the most feasible feature to be adopted and the barriers against its adoption are identified in the SWOT analysis. The research methodology is to conduct surveys with park users to obtain a clearer understanding of the thoughts and opinions towards current park energy management and the idea of implementing green technology for improving energy usage. With the considerations and barriers identified, possible green technologies are suggested for Singapore to adopt for better energy management of the parks. The limitations and recommendations of the studies will also be highlighted in the study. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/242435 |
