Abstract: In this work, we demonstrate the distribution of degenerate and non-degenerate entangled photon pairs of wavelength around 810 nm through standard telecommunication fiber. This technique benefits from the high efficiency of the single photon detectors designed for the NIR regime, leading to better overall performance compared to using photons in the telecom range. We show that the non degenerate photon pairs could be propagated effectively in single mode over telecom fibers, paving the way for a new approach in entanglement distribution over short distances. In this work, we obtain high-quality entanglement (visibility is 94.8% based on the raw data) after an overall distance of 12 km.
