TENANT MIX EXAMINATION OF TENANT PLACEMENT DESIGN WITHIN A SHOPPING CENTER

Abstract

This study aims to determine how tenant placement impact on the pedestrian circulation within a shopping mall and also its effect on businesses within the mall. Tenant placement strategy as highlighted in this study is the combination of various spatial factors, like level and location, and shop types, like types of goods and anchor tenant, in achieving an optimized pedestrian circulation throughout the mall. Seven shopping centers are selected in this study, in which various data, as listed above are collected in order to formulate an analysis on the impact of tenant placement. And through a detailed analysis of the data collected, the study has shown that through proper placement design, management can help boost the overall success level of the mall.
