Abstract: The lack of local studies on Small Office Home Office (SOHO) is one of the reasons that motivate the study into this concept. Although this concept is developed and becomes popular in countries like in New York and London. The increasing trend in SOHO ha also been observed in Japan and China recently. However, it is a new concept in Singapore. With the growing interest from promising entrepreneurs, demand for such office properties is expected to increase. The main objective of this study is to study the difference between SOHO and other types of office space. It also examines the kind of tenants that will be attracted to this new concept. Case study will be done on SOHO@Central as it is the first purpose-built project in Singapore by Far East Organisation. The author also conducted a survey on office users on their views of this new concept and what are the factors affecting them when making a purchase decision.
