Abstract: With the goal of moving towards a smart nation, Singapore has been promoting smart and sustainable living. With various initiatives implemented in new BTOs and some existing public housing estates, it is important to understand the opinion of residents in the willingness and drawbacks in adopting. With a lack of research being conducted to understand the perspective of the users, there could be underlying issues that need to be addressed. The study focuses on getting feedback on existing and potential users on the technologies implemented, in order to better promote them. Along with the acceptance and support of these users, the government can find effective and efficient ways to promote smart and sustainable living. The study adopts the use of surveys and various literature reviews along with hypothesis testing to gain useful information about the knowledge, supportiveness and imperfection of the various initiatives. Lastly, recommendations were provided to encourage greater adoption of the various initiatives so that residents and the authorities can be aligned and move towards smart and sustainable living as a nation.
