Abstract: The digitalisation of the FM industry prompts discussion over the implementation of different technological approaches towards improving the process of facility management. The advent and development of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) across multiple industries have yielded benefits in different workflows. RPA is an automation approach where users can build and automate their own bots to help them with their workflows. RPA can be implemented on an individual or an organisational level. The benefits and scalability of RPA, as well as its actual implementation in modern day work processes will also be studied. This paper seeks to identify the current gaps in the facility management industry and explore the potential benefits or considerations in implementing RPA into facility management processes. Interviews are conducted with different personnel with varying FM experiences as well as personnel with strong expertise in RPA and its implementation. Based on the research questions, this paper hopes to analyse the research found from interviews to explore the use of RPA in facility management.
