Abstract: With the continued presence of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) two years after the virus was declared as a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), disinfection remains a priority. With the rise in awareness of airborne transmissions, the efficacy of disinfection towards these airborne pathogens is not highly known. This study sets out to understand the common disinfectant methods against airborne pathogens, together with the antimicrobial agents' virucidal efficacies. Specifically, the virucidal efficacies chemicals and nanoparticles and various methods of disinfection. To determine the efficacies of killing a variety of pathogens, comparative analysis is carried out. Comparative analysis is carried out with reference to all the literature paper findings tabulated in a table. Recommendations on the considerations before choosing a new disinfection method are examined further on.
